Day 13

June 25th 2007 (Mon)

I wish I could erase this day from my blog... I must have totally walked about 3000 steps or so. I did not wear my pedometer and I was lazing around in the hotel room doing nothing and in the evening we went to Jacksonville beach- that must have been the only time I walked. we tried to find some veggie place to eat dinner with no success and ended up having a few slices of bread.

Day 12

Last day in Orlando!! We visited Kennedy Space center (NASA's launchpad headquarters)- it was awesome but no match for Disney land- sad yet true- fantasy beats reality hands down. I wish we had spent the second day too at Disney :(
We drove down to Jacksonville in the evening and instead of taking 95 N we took state roads 1 and A1A. We stopped by at Smyrna beach for a while and saw the draw bridge at work. We did not have enough time to see Daytona beach...we will hopefully do so someday.

Day 11

We were in Disney Land the whole of today - we have just one more day for sight seeing in Orlando before we are off to Jacksonville :( Spent the day in Epcot and Magic Kingdom. You need more than one day to cover each one of them but we were rushing and couldn't help it.

the excuse was that we were having guests at home and I had a lot of cooking to do...i wish there was some pedometer that would measure calories based on the amount of standing one does.:P

Day 7

and end of week 1...

today's statistics:

total steps: 13845
aerobic: 7974
calories: 563
miles: 7.86

I did my averages for the week which is 11779 steps a day and the sum total of calories burnt this week is 3413 which implies that I have lost around a pound and so have I, without any kind of diet restrictions:)

I got very inspired yesterday when I came across this site run by Rob Cooper who lost 300 lbs and all I am trying to do is lose ten pounds here- so I now think my goal is very achievable.

Hubby's records for today:

steps: 4980

calories: 223
miles: 2.59

He has shown some improvement but not a lot. I am sure he is aiming for more tomorrow.

Day 6

June 18th 2007 (Mon)

Sunday evening I bought one more pedometer for my hubby to start off this program with me. Even if he is not enthusiastic about it right away, I made him wear it the whole of Monday just to make him realize how less he walks each day. I don't think he would immediately change and race with me to make more steps but there is always hope for the better:)

aerobic steps: 0 (meaning he has not walked continuously for 10 minutes at any time)

Day 1

I have this new goal of walking 10000 steps a day and I am going to see how long I can keep it up. I want to do this atleast 5 days a week.
